Prizes Awarded at Korea’s 2017 IsangYun International Violin Competition [VIDEO]

25 year old South Korean violinist Ji Won Song has been awarded 1st prize at the 2017 IsangYun International Violin Competition, in Tongyeong, South Korea.

A graduate of the the Curtis Institute of Music and the New England Conservatory, Ji Won is a former prize winner at the Menuhin Competition – and former 1st prize winner at the Schoenfeld, China and Leopold Mozart International Violin Competitions.

A current Artist Diploma student of Ida Kavafian and Donald Weilerstein at The Juilliard School, Ji Won will to receive KRW 30,000,000 (USD $26,130).

2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to 24 year old Nancy Zhou from the United States and 27 year old Nigel Armstrong from the United States.
